We had a great trip to Panama and the Kuna Islands. The entire family had a chance to go and the children did great. We spent some time with the Rhotons in Panama City and then spent a week on Isla Azucar island in the Kuna region. We were with a team from Yukon, OK and we conducted a VBS every morning and Youth and adult services in the afternoon. Our home church’s mission conference had as a theme the Amazing Race so we put together 4 videos that show our adventure on the Kuna Island. You Can see them in our Video Section. |

As we start off on our deputation one thing becomes clear. We are going to log a bunch of miles. Rolling down the road we pass many interesting places and meet equally interesting people, but one of the most interesting things to date is what happened a few weeks ago on our way to Dallas, TX. As we were driving I failed to notice that our trailer had come open and it was not until I saw my pillow fly out that I realized what had happened. I proceeded to quickly stop the van and run back to rescue my fiend of old. (my wife tells me I had that pillow when we got married almost 10 years ago) As I made it back to the drop zone I found that the pillow was right in the middle of the highway with cars and trucks fling by at 70 Mph. A decision had to be made, was my pillow worth my life. The decision was made quickly, of course it was. So I set out to find the perfect time to run out and rescue my old friend, when all of a sudden, a disgruntled Saturn owner veered out of his way to run over my pillow. I was still in shock when a semi proceeded to run over it and put it into a vortex spin of death and finally shoot it almost 100 feet in the air and on the the grass at the side of the road. It was over. My beloved pillow had now become road kill. Guess it thought me an important a lesson about not standing in the middle of the road, and no I have not yet gotten used to my new pillow. |

From time to time God gives us some extra special blessings and this last week was one of those. We were able to meet with My parents, Marvin and Rebecca Robertson who are missionaries in Spain along with y Sister and her family who also live in Spain. Aside from my family from Spain there were several of my Uncles and aunts and some cousins there too. This event was especially special because it was the first time that we had al been together in the States for almost 10 years. Being a missionary and having missionary parents means that you often do not get to see your family all that often and these occasions are always an occasion for celebration. As for the photo, I think it is evidence that some cousins never quite grow up. |
